 James H. Stroman, 94, of Nashville died June 22, 2013 at Berrien Nursing C
Center.
 He was born January 8, 1919 in Augusta to the late James and Viola Duncan 
Stroman and was self-employed as a mechanic in Lowndes County. He was also p
preceded in death by Christine Simmons, Albert Gray and Eugene Gray.
  Survivors include his ex-wife, Nice L. Ports; 11 step-children, Charles Gray 
(Mattie) of Lakeland, Betty Gray, Lue Jones, Patricia Brown (Ray), Uyra Davis 
(Gray), and Wanda Wright (Wayne), all of Valdosta, Robert Gray (Liz) of Yulee, 
FL, Alonza Gray (Carla) of Thomasville; 25 grandchildren, 40 great 
grandchildren; special friends, Betty Spires, Lillian Mickel, Barbara Slocumb; se
several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
 The family honored his request for cremation.
 A memorial service was held June 29 at 4 p.m. in the Chapel of Black and Son 
Funeral Home with Lillian Mickel officiating.
 Black and Son Funeral Home of Nashville was in charge of arrangements.
