Born in Berrien County on Sept. 21, 1918 to the late Bud and Stella Taylor Casey, she was married to the late John Summerford. She was a member of Meigs Baptist Church and the William T. Flynt Chapter 303 Order of the Eastern Star. She was a homemaker and a devoted Christian. She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Boswell of Lincolnton; granddaughters, Carol Lee Atkinson Rehberg of Ochlocknee, Debbie Boswell Maggard of Pell City, AL, grandson, Phillip Boswell of Lincolnton; three great- grandchildren; sister, Cleo Moore of Nashville. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Ralph David Summerford, daughter, Clarice Summerford Atkinson. Funeral services were held Jan. 28 at 11 a.m. at Meigs Baptist Church with Rev. Dennis Norman officiating. Pallbearers were deacons of Meigs Baptist Church, Jimmy Palmer, Harold Cook, Larry Owen, Lanny Robinson, Kasey Cox and Stacy West. Interment was in Meigs Sunset Cemetery. Jamerson-Braswell Funeral Home of Pelham was in charge of arrangements.
