The Berrien Press -- Morris Ray Sumner, 60, of Homerville died January 21, 
2007, at Clinch County Hospital.
 Born February 19, 1946 in Cook County to the late Robert and Lucille Ray 
Sumner of Berrien County, he was a carpet installer and served with the U.S. 
Army for two years. He was a member of Shiloh Methodist Church in Homerville.
 Survivors include his companion of 16 years, Glenda Smoaks of Homerville; one 
daughter, Christina Stone of Nashville; one step-son, Buddy Smoaks of 
Homerville; four grandchildren, Brandon, Chelsey, Clint and Brittany; three 
brothers, Donald Sumner of Nashville, Earl Wayne and Bobby Sumner, both of 
Sparks. He was preceded in death by one brother, Randall Sumner, and one 
sister, Janice Whitley.
 A memorial service was held January 24 at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Lovein 
Funeral Home with Rev. Wayne Mitchell officiating. Musical selections 
included "Me and God," "When I Gen Where I'm Going," "Softly and Tenderly," 
and "Go Rest High On That Mountain."
 Lovein Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
