 Pearly Jane Kirkland Sumner, 64, of Tifton died August 1, 2004 at Tift 
Regional Medical Center.

 Born Jan. 21, 1940 in Berrien County to the late G.M. and Ella Mae Wells 
Kirkland, she was a homemaker and member of Corinth Freewill Baptist Church.

 Survivors include her husband, Rev. William Sumner of Tifton; three sons, 
Jimmy Sumner of Lake Larry Community, Tommy Sumner of Enigma, Mike Sumner of 
Tifton; one daughter, Mae Sumner of Nashville; three brothers, Bobby Kirkland 
of Tifton, Jack Kirkland of Ocilla, Russell Kirkland of Griffin; three sisters, 
Doris Branon of Griffin, Jessie Mae Moore of Tampa, FL, Dorothy Rudd of Texas; 
12 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild.

 Funeral services were held on Aug. 4 at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Bowen-
Donaldson Home for Funerals with Rev. Bill Barkdale officiating.

 Interment was in Lawrence Cemetery.

 Pallbearers were Anthony Abbott, Mike Sumner, Jr., Darrell Blount, Jason 
Clanton, Joe Kelley, Andrew "Chopper" Summerlin.

 Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals was in charge of arrangements.
