Born May 28, 1967, in Tifton, he was the youngest son of Thelma Montgomery Sutton of Nashville and the late Robert Lewis Sutton. Joel liked and lived the simple life, loving nothing more than being with his family and friends. His nieces and nephews remember fondly the practical jokes he pulled on them over the years. He fished, listened to country music, built cabins, carved walking sticks, and worked on the farm with his brothers. At home, his four-your old daughter, Madison Grace, followed him wherever he went. His 18-year old da daughter, Meagan, grew up riding horses with him. He leaves behind his beloved horse, Cowboy, a faithful friend for many years. H He was a devoted husband, father, brother, son, uncle and friend and leaves b behind a family who loved him dearly and will cherish every memory they have of h him. He will never be forgotten. Survivors, in addition to his mother, include his loving wife of 22 years. Debbie Dillard Sutton of Nashville; daughters, Meagan Sutton and Madison Sutton, both of Nashville; three brothers and sisters, Terryl Sutton, Debra (Terrell) Cowart, Brenda (Richard) Rose, all of Tifton, Darius Sutton of Nashville, Carlton (Rhonda) Sutton of Macon, Lynn (Phil) Romanus of Peoria, IL; nieces and nephews who adored him, Travis Sutton, Traci Ward, Toni Phillips, Angi Angi Spiers, Amy Hawkins, Ashley Sutton, April Luciano, Carli Sutton, Caylee Ann Sutton, Cassie Sutton, Nick Romanus, Jacob Romanus, Eric Romanus, Jacy Romanus, Alyson Ireland, Patrick Ireland, Austin Clements, Brandy Clements, Breanna Clements; many great-nieces and great-nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins a and dear friends. Funeral services were held July 8, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with the Revs. Julian Strom and Loyce Walker officiating. Musical sel selections included "Go Rest High on that Mountain," "Daddy's Hands" and "I Jus Just Call You Mine." Interment was in Westview Cemetery. Pallbearers were Gene Sutton, Ashley Sutton, Patrick Ireland, Nick Romanus, J Jacob Romanus, Eric Romanus. Honorary pallbearer was Travis Sutton, a nephew who grew up with Joel as a b brother.
