She was born August 3, 1914, in Berrien County to the late Neal Edward and Mattie Camellia Drawdy Griner. She was a homemaker and a member of Open Door Baptist Church and the widow of George Tilden Sutton. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son and daughter in law, Jerry and Joyce Sutton; two sons-in-law, Billy Powell and J.A. Williams; one great-great- grandson, Banner Vickers; two sisters, and two brothers. She is survived by three daughters, Mary Powell and Sue Williams, both of Adel, Dell (Donald) Allen of Nashville; one sister, Ruby Johnson of West Berrien; seven grandchildren, Pat James, Paige Martins, Steve Powell, Angie Cornelius, Jerry Sutton, Jr., Melissa Sassenger and Gretta Tennison; 13 great- grandchildren; 17 great-great-grandchildren; one great-great-great- granddaughter. Funeral services were held at Open Door Baptist Church on December 30 at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Gary James, Rev. Jody Futch, Rev. Mickey Lindsey, and the Rev. Jackie Connell officiating. Interment was in Oakey Grove Cemetery. Grandson and great-grandsons served as pallbearers. Angie Cornelius sang "Amazing Grace," and Delicia Otte sang "Thank You Lord for Your Blessings on Me."
