Born November 24, 1936 in Berrien County to the late James Robert "Jim Bob" and Mildred Evelyn Keeffe Seanson, he owned and operated the Old City Barber Shop in Nashville and Nashville Service Station and Wrecker Service. He served as deputy sheriff in Berrien County under the late Sheriff Walter Gaskins and was later elected sheriff. He then worked as a truck driver before re-entering the barbering business. He served in the U.S. Navy, was a Mason and member of Nashville First Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Madine Stone Swanson of Nashville; one daughter, Robyn Mullis of Tifton; one son, Frank Swanson of Hahira; one stepson, Steve Jones of Canton; one step-daughter, Sheila Duskin of Irmo, SC; one half- brother, Sam Gore of Darien; four grandchildren, four step-grandsons. Funeral services were held July 11 at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with the Revs. Steve Jones and Junior Swain officiating. New Tradition sang "Peace in The Valley" and "I Want Us To Be Together in Heaven." Brad Barrett sang "Drive." Interment was in Riverside Cemetery. Masons served as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were J.H. Moore, Carlos Cooper, Julian Vickers, Coil Shiver, Tommy Lee, Roy Miller, Bobby Jack Hendley, C.H. Knight, Timothy Stone, Larry Tabor, Bill Bailey, Don Whaley, Billy Creech, Frank Watson, Bud Ray, Rayford Odom, Junior Luke, Freddy Hughes. Lovein Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
