The Berrien Press -- Irvin Eugene Taylor, 52, of Memphis, TN, died June 27, 
2006 at his residence.
 He attended Berrien High School and graduated from Valdosta High School. He 
received a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science from Valdosta State 
University, a Master of Arts degree in History from the University of 
Mississippi and had started an educational doctoral program at the University 
of Memphis. He taught in the Fayette County School and Memphis City School 
systems. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Perry and Annie Bell 
Rice and Harvey Taylor and Verdie Taylor Cook.
 Survivors include his mother, Agnes R. Taylor of Nashville; his father and 
stepmother, Talley and Marianne Taylor of Leesburg, FL; long-time friend, Hsiu-
Yung Chen of Memphis, a brother and sister-in-law, Ernie and Deborah Taylor of 
Chattanooga, TN; a sister and brother-in-law, LaFaye and Stuart Davis of 
Wilmington, DE; nieces, Georgia Clements Davis of Adel, Janna Luke of 
Wilmington, DE, DeeDee Hughes of Decatur, nephew, Ivey Hughes of Newnan; great-
nephews, Sebastian Davis of Adel, Garrett Chesnutt of Decatur; great-niece, 
Savannah Davis of Adel.
 Funeral services were held July 9 at 5 p.m. in the chapel of Lovein Funeral 
Home. Debra Boyd sang "Wind Beneath My Wings" and "Shall We Gather at the 
River?" The congregation sang "Rock of Ages," "I'll Fly Away," and "Where 
We'll Never Grow Old," accompanied by Teresa Holliday, pianist.
 Interment was in Nashville Memorial Gardens.
