Born March 19, 1929, in Nashville to the late Perry Franklin and Annie Belle Griffis Griffis Rice, she worked for many years as a cook in various restaurants in B Berrien and Cook Counties and retired from Nashville Mills. She attended Forest H Hill Freewill Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by two sons, Irvin T Taylor and Monty Taylor. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, LaFaye and Stuart Davis of Wilmington, Detroit; son and daughter-in-law, Ernie and Deborah Taylor of Chattanooga, TN; two brothers, Lankford Rice of Durant, FL and Vernon Rice of Nashville; four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Dec. 29 at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Daughtry officiating. Deborah Boyd sang "Wind Beneath My Win Wings" and "Amazing Grace." "I'll Fly Away" was played on CD. Interment was in Nashville Memorial Gardens. Selected family members served as pallbearers. Lovein Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
