He was born October 28, 1937, in Berrien County to the late Elijah S. and R Rhoda Jane Ford Taylor. He retired from the J. H. Harvey Co. as an office clerk a and also retired from Del Cook Lumber Co as a truck driver. He was a member of P Poplar Springs Missionary Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by four s sisters, Jeannette Warren, Cleo Benefield, Elnita Dukes and Farris Griffin; two b brothers, Coy and Floy Taylor. He is survived by his wife, Edna Mae Hughes Taylor of Nashville; three daughters, Donna (Bobby) Watson and Cheryl (Randle) Pearson, all of Nashville, and Kay (Dennis) Gaskins of Orlando, FL; seven grandchildren, Denny (Lynn) Gaskins, Derrick (Leisa) Gaskins, Brandon Pearson, Kim (Will) Sapp, Michelle (David) Davis, Mellisa Watson, Chris (Erin) Watson; 11 great-grandchildren, Kaitly Kaitlyn, Austin, Jacob, Hana, Linsey, Kelsey, Rana, John, Blake, Carter, and Jade. Jade. Funeral services were held February 10, at 11 a.m. at Poplar Springs Missi Missionary Baptist Church with the Revs. J.W. Dukes, III and Vernon Hughes offic officiating. Joyce Warren sang "I Want us to Be Together in Heaven" and "Meet By th By the River," accompanied by Carolyn Jean Kirkland, pianist. "Go Rest High on That That Mountain" was played on CD. Interment followed at Poplar Springs Cemetery. Active pallbearers were Ben Warren, Roger Odum, Billy Griffin, Jerry Moore, Jos Josh Dukes, David Dukes, Michael Warren. Honorary pallbearers were W.E. Hughes, Freddie Hughes, Travis Brown, Donald Ha Harnage, Donnie Kirkland, Rusty Darby, Wonnie Royals, J.M. Kent, Robert Tr Trowell, Steve Griffin. Lovein Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
