Ollie June was born on May 4, 1946, in Berrien County to the late Lancelot Julius “Cowboy” and Mildred Inez Hayes Sirmans. She had lived in the Houston and Peach County area since 1964. She retired from Wal-Mart Corporation as the Personnel Director in 2010. Ollie June loved Jesus, her late husband Bob, a horse she called “Heifer” and professional bull riding as well as her family and friends. Along with her husband, Bobby Joe Taylor, her parents, and her brothers, Bob Folds, Lance Sirmans, and Wayne Sirmans, preceded her in death. Her memory will forever by treasured by her children, Norma Maddox (Mike) of Elko, Jerri Taylor-Elkins (Jamie)of Ketchikan, Alaska; her grandchildren, Crystal Maddox Corfee (Shawn) Bobbie Maddox Gaff (Caleb), Levi Browning, Cade Browning, Jeana Browning Walker; great granddaughters, Ava Ruby Corfee, Liora Marie Corfee, Simcha Ruth Gaff; great grandsons, Joseph Wendell Gaff and Gauge Walker; siblings, Elizabeth Sirmans and James Sirmans both of Nashville, Sonja Sirmans of Ooltewah, TN, Lettie Revels of Dalton, and Faye Baby Patterson of Hahira; as well as several nieces and nephews. At her request there will be no formal services, but a celebration of life to honor her and her late husband, Bobby Joe Taylor, was held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 7 in the Chapel of Long Bridge Primitive Baptist Church in Nashville. Following the service, a reception for family and friends was held at the home of James Sirmans in Nashville. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggest memorial donations be given in memory of Ollie June Sirmans Taylor to Pine Pointe Hospice, 6261 Peake Rd., Macon, GA 31210.
