Born August 28, 1942 in Berrien County to Annie Bell McLain Outlaw of Sparks and the late H.B. McLain, she was employed at Ace Hardware 27 years and assistant manager for the Cook County Board of Education Nutritional Services for 13 years. She was of the Primitive Baptist faith and was married to late James Henry Thomas. Survivors, in addition to her mother, include one daughter, Suzanne Heard of Adel; one brother, Tommy McLain of Adel; one sister, Ruth Anne Posey of Gooseneck, SC; six grandchildren. Funeral services were held February 10 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Boone- Lipsey Funeral Home with Elders Bob Conner and Thad Marshall officiating. Jason Luke and Jessica Fussell sang "How Great Thou Art," the Primitive Baptist singers sang "Amazing Grace," and Wayne and Mary Nell Boyette sang "Some Call it Home." Interment was in Woodlawn City Cemetery. Pallbearers were Jason Luke, Glenn Simmons, Ralph Nava, Ricky Dobbins, John Smith, Ron Blansett, Kirk Hand, Gary Cooksey. Boone-Lipsey Funeral Home of Adel was in charge of arrangements.
