Tomlinson died last Friday morning at 2:45 o’clock. The cause of her death was infirmatives of old age. She was 80 years of age and the mother of five children, as follows: Mrs. Lizzie Crews, of Florida; Mr. J.D. Tomlinson, Mrs. Lula Ponsell, of Louisiana, Mrs. C.A. Tomlinson. Her husband, Mr. J.G. Tomlinson, who is still living, and Mrs. Tomlinson, have been living in Nashville for about eight years, having moved here from Willacoochee. This couple have been married for fifty-six years, having married in 1856. Mrs. Tomlinson was a member of the Methodist Church and a good Christian woman. She was loved by all her neighbors and her death is mourned by many sorrowing friends. She was laid to rest at the Nashville cemetery Saturday morning, her funeral being conducted by Rev. W.M. Haywood. [Compiler’s note: There are two major errors in this obituary: It states five children but then lists only four. If the 56 years of marriage is correct, the year of marriage would have been 1867, not 1856.] File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/ga/berrien/obits/t/tomlinso6777nob.txt This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.net/gafiles/ File size: 1.7 Kb
