She was born on Sept. 7, 1927 in Lanier Co. to Troy and Lilla Baker Rouse. She was a homemaker and retired food services worker with the Berrien County Board of Education and member of Knight's Memorial Baptist Church. She was the widow of James Mathis who died in 1954 and Claborn Tucker who died in 1986. She is survived by two daughters, Mary Nell Hughes of Nashville, Midge Woody of Lakeland; one son, J. L. Mathis, Nashville; one sister, Inell Rowe, Nashville; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. today at Poplar Springs Baptist Church with the Rev. Lawton Watson and the Rev. Daniel Dean officiating. Burial will be held in Poplar Springs Cemetery. Lovein Funeral Home, Nashville.
