ALAPAHA -- Bertha Janet Tucker, 71, of Alapaha, died Friday, Sept. 12, 2003, 
at Tift Regional Medical Center.
 She was born Aug. 25, 1932, in Irwin County to Harrison and Miram Griffin 
Latham. She was a homemaker and member of Alapaha United Methodist Church. Mr. 
and Mrs. Tucker were married for 57 years.
 She is survived by her husband, Richard "Dick" Tucker of Alapaha; four sons, 
Raymond Tucker, Valdosta, Richard Tucker Jr., Ricky Tucker, Rodney Tucker, all 
of Alapaha; 11 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren.
 Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 14 at Alapaha United 
Methodist Church with the Rev. Jack Atkinson officiating. Burial will be in 
Mt. Paron Cemetery. Visitation will be from 7-9 p.m. today.
 Lovein Funeral Home, Nashville.
