Born February 29, 1929 in Berrien County to the late Robert "Bob" and Faitha Webb Tucker, he was a retired service station owner/operator and a member of Alapaha United Methodist Church. He was married to Bertha Janet Latham Tucker, who died September 12, 2003. Survivors include four sons and three daughters-in-law, Raymond and Peggy Tucker of Valdosta, Lenna and Richard Tucker Jr., Rodney and Missy Tucker and Ricky Tucker all of Alapaha; five brothers, Bud Tucker, Nelson Tucker, Robert Tucker, Frank Tucker all of Alapaha, Hollis Tucker of Pace, FL; two sisters, Lillie Solomon of Tifton and Janie Brogdon of Alapaha; 11 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one sister, Viola Little. Funeral services were held July 11 at 11 a.m. at Alapaha United Methodist Church with the Revs. Bruce Vaughn and Jack Atkinson officiating. The congregation sang "Victory in Jesus," accompanied by Marian Dixon, pianist. Joel Dixon sang "Someday," accompanying himself on the guitar. Interment was in Mt. Paron Cemetery. Pallbearers were Dusty Tucker, Ray Gallops, Brian Gallops, James Gallops, Carey Tucker, Brady Tucker. Lovein Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
