Turner Dies on Sunday Tilton Colquitt Turner, well known Berrien County man, passed away last Sunday afternoon at 4 o’clock at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Charles Cole in Ocilla, after an illness of several months. He resides nine miles east of Nashville. Mr. Turner was born and reared in Berrien County and was 63 years of age. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 4 o’clock at the Lindsey church, conducted by Rev. A.H. Giddens of Nashville, and Rev. John Harrell of Lakeland. Interment was in the church cemetery, with arrangements in charge of the Giddens Funeral Home of Nashville. The pall-bearers were Joe Rouse, Joe Cowart, H.P. Clements, P.N. Sirmans, M.H. Jackson, and N.L. Rowe. A choir composed of Misses Alma Chism and Wessie Mae Bennett, Mrs. Charlie Griffin and N.H. Harper sang “Does Jesus Care,” and “Sweet Bye and Bye.” Surviving besides his wife are one son and three daughters, Ralph Turner of St. Petersburg, Fla., Mrs. Charles Cole of Ocilla, Mrs. J.G. Clements of Berrien County, and Mrs. E.D. Weller of Long Island, N.Y.
