He was born Dec. 15, 1930 in Nashville to Howard and Ethel Pittman Tyson. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Warner Robins and was an avid hunter and fisherman. Mr. Tyson was a retired tech sergeant with the United States Air Force. Preceding him in death were brothers, Ethridge Tyson and Byron Tyson, and sisters, Pauline, Lois Atkinson and Lucille McLendon. Survivors include his loving wife, Barbara Walters Tyson, Warner Robins, a daughter, Phyllis Prater, Bonaire; a son, Gregory Tyson and his wife, Beth, Warner Robins; sister, Robbie Nell Webb and her husband, J. P. Sr., Nashville, sister, Elaine Duncan, Yulee, FL; a sister, Majorie Boone Phelps and her husband, Roland, Lenox; and Sharon Waller and her husband, David of Valdosta; grandchildren, Jesse Prater and his wife, Michelle, John Prater, Nichole Wheeler and Jackie Wheeler; and great grandson, Michael Prater. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2005, at First Baptist Church, Warner Robins, with interment following in Magnolia Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. tonight at McCullough Funeral Home, Warner Robins, GA.
