Vaughn Dies; Rites Saturday Funeral services for Henry H. Vaughn, resident of Ray City and Berrien native, were held Saturday afternoon, September 29, from the Ray City Baptist Church. Mr. Vaughn passed away at Smith Hospital in Hahira on Tuesday, September 25, within hours after being admitted suffering from a sudden seizure. The deceased, 57 years of age, was born in this county, the son of Mrs. Virginia France Butler Vaughn and the late John (missing print???) Officiating the final rites were the Reverends John W. Harrell and Joe Cox. Mrs. Roy Allen, soloist, sang “Beyond the Sunset” and “Precious Memories”, with Mrs. J.A. Grissett accompanying. With interment in the church cemetery, Frank Studstill, Jack Patten, Paul Vaughn, Jack Giddens, Wright Warr, Jr. and Buddy Henley served as active pallbearers. The accompanying honorary escort was comprised of Albert Studstill, Leo Vickery, Murice Langford, Billy Creech, Ted Zeigler, Bill Garner, Olan Bristol, Mose Browning, Thomas Patten, Shelly Cornelius, Joe Sirmans, and Rudolph Langford. Mr. Vaughn is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Lloyd Cole, Nashville; three sons, Robert J. Vaughn, Orlando, Fla., Bernon B. Vaughn, California, and Richard J. Vaughn, Tampa, FLa. He also leaves his mother, Mrs. John Vaughn, two sisters, Mrs. J.B. McSwain and Mrs. T.J. Studstill, all of Ray City; two brothers, Leon B. Vaughn, Adel, and Horace H. Vaughn, Ray City.
