Services will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Lovein Funeral Home in Nashville, with the Revs. Fred Hesters and Clarence Luke officiating. Burial will follow in Westview Cemetery in Nashville. Mr. Vickers was born in Berrien Co. and lived in Nashville for most of his life. He was a retired employee of Nashville Textile and an Army veteran of WWII. He attended church at Nashville Mission. He was the son of Ethel Jowers Vickers of Adel and the late Ben Vickers. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Mary Mills Vickers, Lakeland; a daughter, Pam Royals, Lakeland; three sons; Vincent Vickers, Jr., Valdosta, David Vickers, Alapaha and Richard Burr, Lakeland; five brothers, Kenneth Vickers, Jacksonville, Eddie Vickers, Alapaha, Carrol Vickers, Lenox and Bobby Vickers and Gene Vickers both of Adel; 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth Burr and a brother. Lovein Funeral Home in Nashville is in charge of arrangements.
