  Gene Vickers, 64, of Valdosta died March 27, 2006 at his residence.
  Born September 20, 1941 in Berrien County to the late Freddie P. and Rhoda 
Tyson Vickers, he was manager of Ameris Bank of Troupeville. He was a veteran 
of the U.S. Army and a member of Greenwood Baptist Church.
  Survivors include his wife, Londie Vickers of Valdosta; two daughters, Genia 
Dixon and Beth Lewis, both of Alapaha; one son, Walt Vickers of Lakeland; five 
sisters, Maggie Vaughn of Thomaston, Ann Bohanon of Clearwater, FL, Ava Ramsey 
and Jo Culpepper both of Valdosta, Faye Zitterour of Savannah; three brothers, 
Julian Vickers of Nashville, Bennie Vickers of Orange Park, FL, Wayne Vickers 
of McRae; ten grandchildren.
  Funeral services were held March 30 at 2 p.m. at Greenwood Baptist Church 
with Pastor Benny Woods officiating. Joel Dixon sang "I Can Only Imagine."
  Interment was in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Quitman.
  Carson McLane Funeral Home was in Charge of arrangements.
