Morris Vickers died March 19, 2007 after a long and courageous battle with kidney cancer. She was born April 5, 1938 in Alapaha, daughter of the late Ira and Clyde Ferguson Morris. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend to many. She is fondly remembered as one who went to great lengths to help others. She gave of herself and her time unconditionally. She was a faithful member of Westminster Presbyterian Church and a long time employee of Dennis O'Neil Law Firm. She was a member of the Charleston Yacht Club Auxiliary where she served as president and remained active until her death. She was an avid sports fan, especially of the Georgia Bulldogs. She is survived by her husband of fifty years, Bobby Wayne Vickers; daughter, Vicki DeMasi and her husband, Tom, granddaughters, Lauren and Kristin of Raleigh, NC, and Bobbie Jo Nicholson and her husband, Tom, grandchildren, Blake and Allie of Greenville, SC; one sister, Vivian Chambless of Nashville. She is predeceased by her brother, James Carlton Morris. Funeral services were held Wednesday, March 21 at 2 p.m. at Westminster Presbyterian Church followed by interment at Holy Cross Cemetery.
