Born Nov. 20, 1923 in Berrien County, she was the daughter of the late Lossie Levi and Sarah Elizabeth Hall Rowan. She was a homemaker and member of Vickers Church. She was married to the late Samuel Jackson "S.J." Walker and was also preceded in death by a son, Billy Walker; and two sisters, Myrtice Bostic and Jeanette Rowan. Survivors include one daughter, Carolyn Giddens of Nashville; three sons, Jackie Walker, Ronald Walker, and Charles Walker all of Nashville; one sister, Louise Boyd of Nashville; one brother, Sam Rowan of Nashville; eight grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild. Funeral services were held April 21 at 2 p.m. at Vickers Church with Rev. Ronnie Lawson and Elder Dwight Marshall officiating. The church choir sang "I'll Meet You in the Morning," "Prettiest Flowers," and "My Lord Keeps a Record." Interment was in Vickers Cemetery. Lovein Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
