 The Berrien Press - Velora Walker, 83, of Nashville died April 18, 2007 at 
Berrien Nursing Center.
 Born Nov. 20, 1923 in Berrien County, she was the daughter of the late Lossie 
Levi and Sarah Elizabeth Hall Rowan.
 She was a homemaker and member of Vickers Church. She was married to the late 
Samuel Jackson "S.J." Walker and was also preceded in death by a son, Billy 
Walker; and two sisters, Myrtice Bostic and Jeanette Rowan.
 Survivors include one daughter, Carolyn Giddens of Nashville; three sons, 
Jackie Walker, Ronald Walker, and Charles Walker all of Nashville; one sister, 
Louise Boyd of Nashville; one brother, Sam Rowan of Nashville; eight 
grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.
 Funeral services were held April 21 at 2 p.m. at Vickers Church with Rev. 
Ronnie Lawson and Elder Dwight Marshall officiating. The church choir 
sang "I'll Meet You in the Morning," "Prettiest Flowers," and "My Lord Keeps a 
Record."
 Interment was in Vickers Cemetery.
 Lovein Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
