Born June 30, 1918 in Berrien County to the late James and Mary Harris Warren, he was a retired machinist with Tifton Machine Works, an Army veteran of World War II, a member of Enigma Congregational Christian Church, and the American Legion. Survivors include one daughter, Barbara Hodges of Tifton, two sons, Gene Warren of Jacksonville, FL and Herbert Warren of Valdosta; one sister, Lena Belle Stone of Nashville; eight grandchildren, Neil Warren, Jody Warren, Rickie Warren, Kevin Warren, Amber Warren, Carter Warren, Scott Newbern and Tiffany Hennessey; and 12 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held June 21 at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with the Rev. Junior Swain officiating. Buck Warren and Teresa Royals sang "Amazing Grace" and "Meet By the River." Interment was held at Poplar Springs Cemetery. Pallbearers were Frankie King, Neil Warren, Jody Warren, Buck Warren, David Stone, J.W. Warren. Lovein Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
