Born November 12, 2936 in Berrien County to Flossie Alma Nix Watson of Ray City and the late William Curtis Watson, he was a retired TSgt. in the U.S. Air Force with 20 years service. He was a member of Poplar Springs Missionary Baptist Church, member of Lakeland Masonic Lodge 434, Scottish Rite and Shriner in Shaddai Temple in Panama City, FL, member of the VFW and DAV and a Vietnam veteran. Survivors, in addition to his mother, include his wife, Minnie Carolyn Thompson Watson of Ray City; one daughter, Tasha Lynn Watson of Ray City; three sons, Johnny W. Watson and Curtis Dewayne Watson, both of Ray City, and William F. "Bill" (Hariette) Watson of Port St. Joe, FL; two sisters, Doris Summerlin of Starke, FL and Theresa Reardon of Leesbgurg; two brothers, Russell (Evelyn) Watson of Hampton, FL and J.E. (Joan) Watson of Graham, FL; two grandchildren, Jana Watkins and Ricky Cabage; one great-granddaughter, Emigen Skye Watkins. Funeral services were held June 15 at 11 a.m. at Poplar Springs Missionary Baptist Church with the Revs. Junior Swain and Bill Watson officiating. Ora Mae Swain sang "God on the Mountain," and Joyce Warren sang "Meet Me at the River." Interment with full military honors and Masonic rites was in Poplar Springs Cemetery.
