Watson, 88, of Nashville died January 28, 2014, at South Georgia Medical Center Berrien Campus. She was born March 2, 1925, in Berrien County to the late James Griffin and the late Marion Simpson. She was a homemaker and retired educator with the Berrien County Board of Education having taught for 38 years. She was a member of Nashville First Baptist Church and was the widow of James Pleasant “J.P.” Watson, Jr. She was also preceded in death by a son, Dr. James P. “Jimmy” Watson, III; eight sisters and two brothers. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Elaine (Johnny) Morris of Calhoun; sister, Nina Billingsley of Tallahassee, FL; four grandchildren, Dana (Mark) Warren of Nashville, Dean (Dina) Watson of San Antonio, TX, Kerry (Kerry Rose) Vick of Valdosta, and Griffin (Ali) Morris of Calhoun; great- granddaughter, Lainey Morris; several beloved nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held January 31 at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with the Rev. Harvey Morgan officiating. Interment followed at Westview Cemetery.
