Born May 11, 1951 in Fitzgerald to the late Curtis Jackson and Dorothy Lee Whatley Watson, he lived in Fitzgerald and Nashville before moving to Lowndes County ten years ago. He was a member of Northside Baptist Church and was a transfer officer with Valdosta State Prison. He was a member of the Benevolent Police Association and enjoyed fishing, cooking and playing with his dogs. Survivors include his wife, Sandra Hunter Warren Watson of Naylor; daughters and sons-in-law, Dee Dee Watson Baker and Brian Baker of Jacksonville, FL, Michelle and Phil Fausett of Adel and Christi Melinda and Greg Tomlinson of Sparks; son and daughter-in-law, Curtis Lamar (Curt) Jr., and Amanda Watson of St. Marys, formerly of Nashville; six grandchildren, Jessa Brooks, Josh Brooks, Jordan Baker, Chloe Baker, Brayden Watson, Garrison Tomlinson; sister and brother-in-law, Ann and Ellis Kitchens of Stockbridge; two special pets, Belle and Cricket. Funeral services were held April 16 at 3:30 p.m. in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home with Dr. Rick Stevens and Rev. Bob Willis officiating. Interment was in Carter Cemetery in Echols County.
