Born in Berrien County, she had lived in Lanier County most of her life. She was a charter member of Knights Memorial Missionary Baptist Church and a member of the K&E Community Club. She was married to the late John W. Weaver. Survivors include three daughters, Marilyn King of Enigma, Greta Griner and Janice DeVane, both of Valdosta; one son, Wayne Weaver of Tallahassee, FL; one brother, Wilbur Guthrie of Muzella; 16 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, 12 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held September 13 at 2 p.m. at Knights Memorial Baptist Church with Rev. Jimmy Spikes officiating. Musical selections included "I've Got So Much To Thank You For" and "Where the Roses Never Fade." Melody Griffin read a poem entitled, "If You Could See Me Now." Interment was in Empire Cemetery. Pallbearers were Joey King, Ray Griner, Larry King, Steve DeVane, Howell Weaver, Terry King, Johnny Griffin, Joel Weaver, Brent DeVane. Music Funeral Services of Lakeland was in charge of arrangements.
