 Samuel James “Sam” Welch, 64, of Calhoun died October 19, 2012, at Carters
Cartersville Medical Center.
 He was born January 23, 1948, in Clinch County to the late Larkin and Willie Mae
Wh
Mae Wheeler Welch. He was a retired logger and member of Christian Crusade in
Moultr
Moultrie. He was preceded in death by his wife Linda Ann King Welch who died Novemb
November 2, 2001 and two sisters, Dora Ann Sapp and Becky Wooten.
 He is survived by his daughter, Mary Ann Groves of Moultrie; son, Sam Welch, Jr., 
Jr., of Homerville; brother, Johnny Welch of Nashville; three sisters, Faye Cowar
Cowart of Thomasville, Marie Welch of Bainbridge and Nancy Sheriff of Calhoun; 10
gr
10 grandchildren.
 A graveside service was held October 23 at 4 p.m. at Poplar Springs Cemetery with
with Rev. Eddie Dees officiating. Selected music was played on CD.
 Pallbearers were Terry Brogdon, Terry Brogdon, Jr., Jonathan Miles, Keith Ben
Bennett, Jr., Jesse King, Ronald Snell, Daniel Bennett.
 Lovein Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
