He was born November 2, 1930, in Cook County to the late Ira and Ruby Watson Wetherington. He was a retired sales agent with Independent and American General. He was an avid ham radio operator, a Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict, a member of Nashville VFW Post, and a member of Nashville First Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by a daughter; Susan Wethington; granddaughter, Brook Chauncey; two brothers, Ralph Wetherington and Frank Wetherington; two sisters, Cleo Dryden and Sallie Shirah. He is survived by his wife, Virginia May Wetherington of Nashville; daughter, Sandra (Shelly) Chauncey of Pearson; son, Greg (Donna) Wetherington of Nashville; brother, Ira Thomas Wetherington of Anderson, SC; two grandson, Chris (Nikki) Wetherington and Jeremy (Katie) Wetherington; several great- grandchildren. Funeral services will be held April 2 at 2 p.m. at Nashville First Baptist Church with the Revs. Stanley Luke, Danny Ray and Ben Rice officiating. Interment will follow at Empire Cemetery.
