Born April 10, 1923 in Berrien County to the late Clarence and Martha Ann May Whaley, he was a grocery manager for The Gaskins Co. in Alapaha for 44 years. He was a member of Glory United Methodist Church. Survivors include one sister, Aline Troha of Glennville; one brother, Jack Whaley of Alapaha. Funeral services were held November 15 at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with Rev. Jack Atkinson officiating. Soft organ music was played. Interment was in Glory Cemetery Pallbearers were Winston Brogdon, William Brogdon, Butch Gaskins, Mike McCranie, Steve Brown, David Gaskins. Lovein Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
