Born August 25, 1947 in Lee County, FL to Mary Elizabeth Palmer Hart of Ft. Myers, FL and the late James Eli Hart, she was a homemaker and employed with Nashville Mills. She was a member of Hall's Community Church and served as a volunteer with the Ray City Fire Department. She was married to the late William S. Wheeler. Survivors, in addition to her mother, include three daughters, Susan Lani Williams of Dothan, AL, Barbara Lynn Wheeler of Florida City, FL and Deborah Jean Wiggins of Pearson; three sons, B. J. Wheeler of Ray City, William Ronald Wheeler of Lake Wales, FL and Gary Leon Wheeler of Douglas, ; three sisters, Olene Gilbert and Janie Norris, both of Alva, FL, and Betty Jackman of Ft. Myers, FL; 17 grandchildren. Funeral services were held April 9 at 4 p.m. in the chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with the Revs. Robert Beggs and Jim Schappaugh officiating. Dixie Arnett, Faye Jarvin and Bruce Langley sang "Amazing Grace," "Have Thine Own Way," and "I Can See Your Face in my Mind." Interment was in Nashville Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers were members of the Ray City Fire Department and Ray City Police Department. Lovein Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
