She was born on Dec. 4, 1919, in Berrien County to Thomas Watson and Maggie DeVane Shaw. She was a homemaker and member of Alapaha Church of God. She was the widow of the Rev. Robert Lee Whitley who died in 1991. She is survived by three daughters, Ruby Gray, Lakeland, Annell Bradford, Nashville, Jo Ann Whitley, Quitman; nine sons, Bud Whitley, Carroll Whitley, Terrell Whitley, Waymon Whitley, Don Whitley, Earl Whitley, all of Alapaha, Ronald Whitley, Quitman, Clifton Whitley, Tifton, Jerry Whitley, Enigma; 23 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great-grandchildren; four sisters, Mary Cato, Martha Keffer, Betty Vickers, Allene Brown all of Nashville. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Taylor who died in 1989. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, August 17 in the chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with the Rev. Ronnie Lawson and the Rev. Robert Holland officiating. Burial will be in Flat Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be held after 3 p.m. today with the family receiving friends from 7-9 p.m. Lovein Funeral Home, Nashville.
