 Gregory Keith Whitley, 50, of Midland died Dec. 13, 2010 at Columbus Hospice Ho
House in Columbus.
 Born Nov. 13, 1960 in Tifton, he attended training centers in Tifton, Lyons, S
Statesboro, Hamilton and Crown Point, IN. He participated in Special Olympics f
from the age of 13 until the age of 47, winning several gold and silver medals. H
He was an avid bowler, bowling on the Columbus Parks and Recreations Department L
League. He was the son of Sandra and William Bock of Midland and Jake Thomas a
and Sue Whitley of Enigma.
 Survivors, in addition to his parents, include brother and sister-in-law, Paul 
and Stephanie Whitley of Ailey; sister Nancy Lynn Meadows of Cataula; 
stepbrother, Michael William Bock (Charleen) of Corning, NY, half brothers, 
Jake "Thomas" Whitley of Alapaha, Mark Whitley of Chula and James Whitley of 
Tifton; a half-sister, Cassidy (Randy) Turner of Tifton. He was preceded in de
death by a stepsister, Janet Lynn Bock.
 Funeral services were held Dec. 15 at 4 p.m. at McMullen Funeral Home Chapel i
in Columbus with Rev. David Helms officiating.
 Interment was held Dec. 16 at 3 p.m. at New Griffin Baptist Church Cemetery in
Alapaha
Alapaha.
 Pallbearers were Jon Martin, Jim Martin, Jeff Martin, Larry Godwin, Michael 
Heath, Doug Justice, Ronald Metts.
 Paulk Funeral Home of Fitzgerald was in charge of arrangements.
