Born August 23, 1942 in Bailey, MS to Monroe and Thelma Williamson of Nashville, he was a former member of the U.S. National Guard. He attended Higher Ground Baptist Church in Baldwin and was an active member in the ABC Bowling Conference in South Georgia. Survivors, in addition to his parents, include his wife, Barbara J. Williamson of Baldwin; two daughters, Donnell Nichols of Murphy, SC and Sherrie Griffin of Flowery Branch; one son, Steve Williamson of Lula; one sister, Alene Rowe of Fitzgerald; ten grandchildren. Funeral services were held Feb. 23 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of McGahee-Griffin and Stewart Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Wilson and Bro. David Gordon officiating. Interment was in Level Grove Cemetery. McGahee-Griffin and Stewart Funeral Home of Cornelia was in charge of arrangements.
