 Sadie Barnette "Barney" Williams, 79, died Nov. 4, 2009, at the home she 
shared with her son and daughter-in-law in Nashville.
 Born in Bruce, MS, on Nov. 10, 1929, to the late Vernon and Sally Tallant 
Morgan, she was the eleventh of twelve children. She was of the Baptist faith. 
For many years she worked along-side her husband and children, operating 
Barney's Sandwich Shop in Jackson and Barney's Family Restaurant in Clinton. 
 She was preceded in death by her husband and best friend, Douglas Lee 
Williams, in February, 1991. Also preceding her in death were five brothers and 
three sisters.
 She is survived by her son, Mike (Linda) Williams, Nashville; daughter, Debbie 
(Greg) Hicks of Byram; grandchildren, Christie (Jason) Harrison and Michael 
(Liz) Williams of Florence, Corey and Haley Hicks of Byram; step-grandchildren 
Kathleen (Tony) DiLella of Winter Springs, FL and Jennifer (Wes) Peper of 
Savannah; three great-grandchildren, Leslee and Lauren Higgs and Wyatt 
Williams, all of Florence; three step-great grandchildren, Matthew and Michael 
DeLella and Caroline Peper; brother, Al Morgan; sisters, Hazel Bolinger, Opal 
Simmons, and Jeanette Varner.
 Funeral services were held Nov. 9 in the chapel of Chancellor Funeral Home in 
Byram with Brother Carl Prewitt officiating. Interment was in Lakewood Memorial 
Park in Jackson.
 Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram was in charge of arrangements.
