James Martin Wilson, 88, died Jan. 27, 2010, at Tift Regional Medical C Center. Born June 11, 1921, in Atkinson County to the late Mary Corbitt and W.M. Wilson, Sr., he was retired owner of Jim and Martin's Garage. He was a member of Homerville Freewill Baptist Church, a minister for 27 years and he pastored Enigma Congregational Christian Church until his retirement in 2005. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Pauline Delk Wilson; a daughter, Lisa Tindall; brother, W.N. Wilson; sister, Quida Wilson Hamilton. Survivors include his wife, Shirley Davis Wilson of Homerville; three daughters and sons-in-law, Susan Wilson and Scott Sparks of Ray City, Natasha Wilson and Ben Gillis of Homerville and Linda Tindall and Frank Chance of Adel; three sons and daughters-in-law, Jimmy and Evelyn Wilson of Homerville, Otis and Melissa Tindall of Valdosta and Steve and Julie Tindall of Marian, FL; sister and brother-in-law, Marilu Wilson and Harmon Hinson of Homerville; brother W.M. Wilson, Jr. (Carolyn) of Homerville; 17 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, one great grandchildren, one great-great-grandson; several other relatives. Funeral services were held Jan. 29 at 2 p.m. at Homerville Freewill Baptist Ch Church with Rev. Keith Chauncey officiating. Tammy Crosby sang "I Bowed on my Kn Knees and Cried Holy" and "The Blood Will Never Lose Its Power." Interment was in Arabia Church Cemetery. Active pallbearers were Fred Wilson, Lucious Wilson, Wiley Hinson, Dion Griffis Griffis, Wilson Griffis, Johnny Mack Brown, Brian Brown, Stephen Wilson. Honorary pallbearers were members of Enigma Congregational Christian Church. Roundtree Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
