Born Feb. 3, 1931, in Jacksonville, FL to the late Adolph and Hermina Wollitz, h he worked as a policeman and carpenter and was retired from Wolf Creek Nuclear P Power Plan as a reactor supervisor. He was a member and deacon of Guthrie B Baptist Church. He served in the Army Air Force during the Korean War. Survivors include his wife, Elfrida Kelley Wollitz of Nashville, two daughters. Wanda Snyder and Cheryl Holmes, both of Nashville; two sons and daughters-in-law, Edward and Bonnie Wollitz of Nashville and Erik and Alissa Wollitz of Waco, TX; 10 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; son-in-law, Thomas Holmes of Nashville; sister, Wilma Allen of Jacksonville, FL; brother, Ray Raymond Wollitz of Jacksonville, FL; many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was pre preceded in death by a son, Carl James Wollitz, Jr. The family honored his request for cremation. A memorial service will be held August 19 at 5 p.m. in the chapel of Lovein F Funeral Home with the Revs. J.W. Dukes, III and Junior Swain officiating. A Angela Evans will sing "Amazing Grace" "Daddy's Hands" and "Go Tell It On the M Mountain" will be played on CD. Lovein Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
