 Brenda Akins Wright, 59, of Valdosta died June 2, 2012, at South Georgia Medica
Medical Center.
  She was born July 13, 1952, in Lowndes County to Betty Nobles Peters of Valdo
Valdosta and the late Robert Akins. She was a registered nurse and was employed with

with John D. Archbold Memorial in Thomasville. She was a member of New Bethel Bapti
Baptist Church and the widow of Burtis "Buddy" Wright who died in 2008.
 Survivors, in addition to her mother, include her son, Michael (Mandy) Powe of Ray

Ray City; brother, Bobby (Vivian) Akins of Orlando, FL; two nieces, Lynsey and Alex
Alexis Akins; nephew, Sean Akins; two aunts, Cora Crosby of Valdosta and Sarah Fran
Frances Hagen of Ray City; best friend Amy Griffin of Hahira.
 Funeral services will be held June 5 at 11 a.m. at New Bethel Baptist Church wit
with the Rev. Tyler Barrett officiating. Musical selections were provided by the
the church choir and also Deborah Boyd.
 Interment followed at New Bethel Cemetery.
 Pallbearers were Ryan Hancock, John Reynolds, Al Cooper, Shawn Lindsey, David C
Connell, Lauren Hand, Brent Lupo.
 Lovein Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
