He is on the Slave owners census as having 29 slaves. He is mentioned in the History of Macon,by Young, Gholson & Hargrove, (1823-1949) pg 169 " Keen political rivalry continued between the Democrat and Know Nothing parties and during the month of May (1855) the Democratic Party of Bibb County held a convention at which they denounced the secret policies of the Know-Nothings and affirmed the principles of state rights. Appropriate resolutions were drawn by P. Tracey, John B Lamar, OA Lochrane, James A Nisbet, Green Wilder and W.K DeGraffenried." His father was William Wilder, died Jones County in 1835, and mother unknown. He married Rebecca Goodin b 1795, possibly she was the daughter of Lewis Goodin of Jones County. Joseph Green married Caroline E Greggory 1850 Sarah Ann married James Hatfield 1848 Lydia Ann married a Tucker Mary Ann ? Green Wilder did not leave a will but left a deed which indicated his daughter Sarah Hatfield & her children would inherit the land he was living on after the Civil War, if she would look after him in his old age and infirmity. Bibb County Deeds I would love to speak to other descendants, and know where Green & Rebecca are buried. I have quite a bit of information on Frances Wilder and her children. I would be interested to see any photos of this family. email me at: gaila@ merrington.net See more information on the Wilders and Heards at www.merrington.net Southern Ancestors Good hunting, Gaila ======================== USGENWEB NOTICE: In keeping with our policy of providing free information on the Internet, data may be freely used by non-commercial entities, as long as this message remains on all copied material.
