Hamilton of the County of Bibb of the one part and George A. Smith of the County of Bibb of the other part: Witnesseth that the said John Martin and John C. Hamilton for an in consideration of the sum of thirteen hundred dollars in hand paid at and before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, hath granted, bargained, sold, aliened, conveyed and confirmed, and by these presents doth grant, bargain, sell, alien, convey and confirm unto the said George A. Smith his heirs and assigns All one half of a certain Lot of ground in the Town of Macon and State aforesaid, known and distinguished in said plan of (Town Macon) City, as Lot No. One in range Twenty four adjoining the Public Square, it being a corner lot, and running back to John Phillips lot on Fifth or Bridge Street. To have and to hold the said lot of ground with all and singular the rights, members and appurtenances, with the remainder and remainders reversion and reversions, rents, access and profits thereof to the only proper use, benefit and behoof of him the said George A. Smith his heirs, Executors, administrators and assigns in fee simple: And the said John Martin & John C. Hamilton their heirs, Executors and administrators, the said bargained lot of ground unto the said George A. Smith his heirs Executors, administrators and assigns against the said John Martin and John C. Hamilton their heirs, Executors and administrators and all and every other person or persons shall and will warrant and forever defend by virtue of these presents. In witness whereof the said John Martin and John C. Hamilton has hereunto set their hands and affixed their seals the day and year first above written.
