The jury, after an absence of twenty minutes, returned a verdict of guilty on all the counts, and the prisoner was sentenced to be hanged on the 10th of February next. The evidence, though strong, was entirely circumstantial, and there are some who do not believe Woolfolk guilty. A motion for a new trial has been made. Woolfolk again declared his innocence after the verdict had been rendered, and said that some of the witnesses swore falsely.
