"Lois" Asbell, 84 of 1852 College Street died Saturday after an extended illness. Services will be held at 11am Monday in the chapel of Hart's Mortuary. Burial will be in Macon Memorial Park. Mrs. Asbell, a native of Bibb County, had lived in Macon most of her life. For many years, She and her late husband, Charles E. Asbell, owned and operated a grocery business. She was a lunchroom assistant in the Bibb County school system and was a member of Tattnall Square Baptist Church and the Faithful Workers Sunday School Class. Survivors include three sons, Fred W. Asbell of Charlotte, NC, George W. Asbell of Savannah, and Dr. Jimmy R. Asbell of Macon; three daughters, Mrs. Martha A. Sauls of Macon, Mrs. Jeffie Mae Fisher of Tucker, and Mrs. Ann A. Oxley of Macon; 11 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren. Hart's Mortuary has charge of arrangements. Additional Comments: Claudia was born 20 May 1895. Her husband is also buried in Macon Memorial Park.
