Funeral services was held on Thursday, October 4, 2007 at 1:00 pm at Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. Burial was at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Norm Yukers, Rev. Johnny Watts and Rev. Ralph McAtee officiating. -Mr. Baker was the grandson of the late Tyson and Elsie Baker. He was preceded in death by his wife Margaret Sirmons Baker; Scott Wingard his step father and Jason Baker, his grandson. Mr. Baker was retired from McGaw Labs as an electrician. He was a member of Pitts Chapel UMC and was a member of the United States Air Force, where he played in the 769th Air Force Band. He played saxophone with the Ray Melton Band and other local bands. He enjoyed fishing and camping. -He is survived by his children, James Steven Baker of Gray; daughters, Shirley (John) Thomas of Lizella, and Sandy (Stephen) Davis of Lizella, mother; Lois Elleen Baker Wingard of Kittanning, PA; companion, Jackie Childree of Townsend, GA, nine grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren. -The family greeted friends on Wednesday, October 3, 2007 from 5-7 pm at Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. -Donations may be made to Pitts Chapel UMC, 132 Pitts Chapel Road, Gray, GA 31032. -Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery had charge of the arrangements.
