She was affectionately known as "Grandma" by all who loved her except her husband who called her "Honey". Services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 8, 2006 at Hardison Baptist Church in Byron with interment in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens, Christus Garden, Lot 131 C # 4. The Rev. Rick Odum officated. The family received friends at Rooks Funeral Home in Byron on Tuesday, February 7, 2006 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Floral contributions were accepted, however, those who wanted, could make memorial contrubutions to United Hospice, 2484 Ingleside Avenue, Bldg B, Macon, Ga 31204. Mrs. Barbour was born July 16, 1919 in Taylor County to James Brooks and Sara Martha Goodwin. Retired from civil service at Robins Air Force Base. A lifetime member of Hardison Baptist Church and a member of the Joy Sunday School Class and the Haridson Happy Hearts. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Robert F. Barbour and a granddaughter, Lana Lynn Barbour. Survivors include her children, James and Mary Ann Barbour, Bill and Sandra Barbour; grandchildren, Derrick, Ken, Crystal, Lisa and Rhett Barbour, Marleena Patterson and Diana Davis; great grandchildren, Crystal Reep, Dakota, Erica, Alden and Brooks Barbour, Kaytlynn and Brandon Davis, and Dillon Patterson; sister in law, Helen Wilkes; brother in law and sister in law, Fred and Peggy Barbour; former daughter in law, Vickie Barbour and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and beloved friends.
