Senator Colquitt died at his home in Washington City Monday morning at 7:10 
o’clock as the result of his second stroke of paralysis.  His remains were 
brought to Macon for burial, accompanied by a committee from the House and 
Senate.  He served as governor two terms and was elected to the United States 
Senate where he has since remained.
