TERO E. CHERRY Mrs. Tero E. Cherry, 54, widow of W. H. Cherry, died at her home at Popes Ferry, GA at 8:30 o’clock yesterday morning. Mrs. Cherry had been ill several months. Surviving are one daughter and one son, Mrs. C. M. Johnston and W. H. Cherry, also two grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. A. L. Moore, and a niece, Mrs. Gussie Hamlin. Mrs. Cherry was a member of the Methodist Church, and she had lived at Popes Ferry the last two and a half years. Funeral services will be held from Hart’s Chapel this afternoon at ---:30 o’clock. Rev. T. F. Calloway officiating. Internment will be in Riverside Cemetery. Posted in the Macon Telegraph. I have copied it exactly as it appears. Notes: Popes Ferry Rd. is in Monroe Co., Juliette, GA off of highway 87, also known as Riverside Drive. This is where I grew up. The old home place is still there. Tero purchased 400 acre’s on 6 Nov. 1913. The two children that survived her were: Martha Wilmont Cherry m. Chandler McGuirk Johnston They had two children: Howell McGuirk Johnston and Cordelia (Corrie) Ruth Johnston William Henry Cherry, Jr. Her deceased husband was William Henry Cherry, Sr., son of Hilliard Judge Cherry and Martha Wright.
