DAVIS.--Mrs. Carrie Howes Davis, widow of the late Henry Davis, ceased from her 
sufferings, and was laid to rest on the 12th of June, in Macon, after a long 
and painful suffering.  She was baptized at 12 years of age, in 1869, in the 
First Baptist church, Macon, by the pastor.  She leaves five fatherless 
children to be cared for, loved and tenderly trained by pious relatives, who 
cheerfully assume the responsibilities.  Mrs. Davis possessed a strong 
character, which had been well trained in the principles and activities of 
Christian life.  She has left a uniform example of faithful service and patient 
trust.  The dying hour was crowned with the beautiful visions of a loving 
Saviour.
