Harris Lane Doke Sr.
born 6-2-1900 and died 9-1-1964

Funeral today for H.L. Doke

Funeral services for Harris Lane Doke, 64 of 533 Elm St. who died Tuesday, will
be held at 5 pm today in the Third Baptist Church, where the body will lie in
state from 4:30 until 5pm

The Rev Hubert Hollis will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Jessie Anderson, O.F. Beard, J.B. Willbanks, James Tucker,
Loren Hester and Henry Defore.

Mr. Doke, a retired painter, was born in Baldwin County, the son of Joe Doke and
Mrs. Dora Taylor Doke, and had lived here most of his life. He was a member of
the Third Baptist Church and a veteran of World War II.

Surviving are his wife, the former Miss Johnnie Weathers Jones, Macon; a son,
Harris L. Doke, Jr of Florida; two daughters; four sisters, Mrs. Dora Smith,
Columbus, Miss Juanita Doke, Mrs. Nell Morris nd Mrs. Eva Johnson, all of
Washington D.C. ; two aunts Mrs. J.F. Taylor Coopersville; and Mrs. Ollie
Taylor, Milledgeville; and several nieces and nephews.

Hart's Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
