Rev. Tex Watson will officiate. Mr. Edwards, a life long resident of Macon, was educated here. He attended Mercer University and was a retitred United States Post Office Supervisor in Macon. He attended First Presbyterian Church and taught Sunday School at the Macon Evangelical Church. He was a member of Wolehim Masonic Lodge, the York Rites Bodies and was a World War II., Marine veteran. Survivors include his wife, Bannie Edwards of Macon, three daughters, Charlotte Sacre of Bluefield, W. Va., Carole Bennett of Macon and Diane Phillips of Gray; a son, Paul Edwards, of Athens; two sisters, Allene Busbee and Elizabeth Whitehead, both of Macon, a brother, Robert edwards of Macon,; and three grandchildren. Those who wish to may make donations to the Thomas C. Burke Foundation, 781 Spring St. Macon 31204 or the American Cancer Society, 1027 Walnut St., Macon, 31201. Snows Memorial Chapel has charge of arrangements. Additional Comments: Compiler Notes: Charles Arthur Edwards, Jr., was born: 12 March 1926 in Macon, Bibb County, Georgia and died: 4 October 1984 in Macon, Bibb Counrty, Georgia. He was a Sargeant in the US Marine Corps during WWII. He was buried in Riverside Cemetery on 6 October 1984 in Block 2, Sec K, Lot 8. He was the son of Charles Arthur Edwards, Sr. & Mattie Ora Lee. Note: Both parents are buried at Riverside and identified at that web site. His wife Grizelda Elizabeth "Bannie" Darity is still living in Macon(2013).
